How Studio 9 Architecture collects, uses and protects your personal information when you contact us, work with us or use this website. In short: we only use it to help with your project, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Who we are

This website is run by Studio 9 Architecture Ltd, an architectural design practice based in Chester. We're responsible for the personal information you give us, and we look after it in line with UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

What we collect

  • When you contact usYour name, email address, phone number, the postcode or address of your property, and the details you tell us about your project, budget and timing.
  • When we work for youInformation about your property, drawings, photographs and correspondence needed to design your project and make applications to the council and Building Control.
  • When you use this websiteInformation about how you use the site, such as pages visited, the type of device and roughly where you are, collected through cookies if you accept them.

We don't ask for, and don't want, sensitive information such as health details. Please don't include it in your enquiry.

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and give you a quoteBecause you've asked us to, before entering into a contract with you.
  • To carry out the work you appoint us to doUnder our contract with you.
  • To keep accounting, tax and insurance recordsBecause the law requires us to.
  • To understand how people use our website and improve itOnly with your consent, through analytics cookies.

We will never sell your information, and we won't send you marketing emails unless you've asked us to.

Who we share it with

We only share your information when it's needed for your enquiry or project:

  • SquarespaceHosts this website and processes form submissions.
  • GoogleWebsite analytics and advertising measurement, only if you accept cookies.
  • J & J ConstructionOur building partner, only if you ask about our design and build service.
  • Engineers, councils and Building ControlStructural engineers, Cheshire West and Chester Council or your local council, and Building Control, only as needed for your project.

Some of these providers may store information outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don't go aheadDeleted after 2 years.
  • Project recordsKept for 6 years after the project ends, for legal, tax and insurance reasons.

When we no longer need your information, we delete it securely.

Cookies

This website uses cookies that are needed for it to work. With your permission, it also uses analytics and advertising cookies from Google, which help us understand how the site is used and how people find us.

You can accept or decline these when you first visit, and change your choice at any time using the cookie banner or your browser settings. Declining them won't affect how the site works.
